The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/12/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Bubba’s Potbelly Stove Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • The products in the single door refrigerator are observed above 42F. The refrigeration unit is not properly operating & products temperatures are within the danger zone. Discontinue use of this refrigeration unit until it has been repaired to properly operate maintaining TCS products at 41F or less. Repair any damaged gaskets on refrigeration units.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.
  • Products placed out of temperature control for service are not monitored under four hour control, as required.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 03/12/2020
  • Mice droppings were observed in the basement upon multiple shelving units & on the floor. The exterminator has not been out since last inspection. There are multiple structural deficiencies that allow for pest entry. The exterior basement door does not fit tight in jam & has a rusted base allowing pest entry. The droppings must all be cleaned up & areas thoroughy cleaned then sanitized. The damaged walls allowing pest entry must be properly replaced with smooth, easily cleanable, non-absorbent material. The outer door must be replaced as replaced to prevent pest entry.  Repeat Violation.
  • Multiple pieces of equipment, shelves, & other surfaces throughout the facility are not clean. All equipment & items must be taken apart, thoroughly cleaned then maintained on a more frequent cleaning schedule.  Repeat Violation.
  • Raw sewage was observed discharging to the surface of the ground at the tank, broken clean-out, then down driveway into neighboring stream. The cause of the problem must be determined, which may be an issued between the two tanks, then repaired to eliminate sewage discharge. The broken clean-out pipe must also be repaired. All sewage on the surface of the ground must be properly cleaned up & area limed.  New Violation.
  • The floor throughout the entire facility is not clean. Beneath the cook line equipment is thick grease & food debris accumulating. The facility floors must be detail cleaned then maintained.  Repeat Violation.
