The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/12/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Richs Deli was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Self-service food items packaged onsite in retail area lacking ingredient label.

Rust build up/unclean shelving in walk in refrigerator and shelf over reach down freezers.

Foil lining shelves at grill area.

Interior of prep unit at front service area unclean.

Floor under flat top griddle and under 4 door reach in refrigerator in back area unclean.

Wall behind 3 compartment ware wash sink unclean.

Damaged floor at prep unit and slicer area in front.

Lacking end cap on light shield in back area.
