The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 145, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Neshaminy Creek- Borough Brewhouse in Jenkintown was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Certified food protection manager- CFSM certificate not posted conspicuously for the public.
  • Can opener blade with dried accumulation.
  • Mold like accumulation on interior white divider in ice machine. Cleaned and sanitized.
  • Soda gun with mold like accumulation at front end of bar.
  • Chlorine concentration observed at less than 50ppm at the bar glass washer. Facility must cease use of ware washing machine. kitchen area. Facility may not use unit until serviced, supplying final rinse of 50-100ppm chlorine, AND written permission is granted by MCOPH. Fax report to 215-784-5524 or to the email provided. 3XRepeat. Failure to correct and maintain repeat violations could lead to legal action.
  • Date marking with date of prep only, date marking lacking on open loaves of lunch meats. All foods that are TCS, RTE, and held longer than 24hrs must be marked with a discard date not to exceed 7days or the manufacturers sell by date. Commercially processed foods must also include an open date. EHS left copy of date marking guidance document at the time of inspection.
  • Sanitizer spray bottle hung from ice bin and clean dish rack at bar.
  • Gap at bottom of rear door allows access to rodents and insects.
  • Containers stacked wet after sanitizing.
  • Single use quart container re-used. Observed on clean dish rack at ware washing area.
  • Drain line from soda gun passing through ice for consumption at ice bin.
  • Floors in kitchen not smooth non porous and easily cleaned. Coating missing in walk-ing paths and peeling under ware washing machine.
