The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/3/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Subway was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Observed purses and clothing on the fountain drink syrup boxes. Items were relocated to the office. Designate an area today. REPEAT VIOLATION FROM 2017.
- Observed there was black and pink residue inside of the bulk ice machine above the water reservoir. Unit was shut down upon arrival. Unit needs to be cleaned and sanitized prior to operation.
