The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 4/9/2020 following a complaint from the public. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Dunkin’ Donuts was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Lower hopper unit of ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have pink residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrections started during inspection, to be completed prior to use. Ice machine is not approved for use until corrected.
  • Interior rear ledge of the refrigerated prep unit, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand wash sink in the prep area. Filled during inspection.
  • Observed stir spoons at the front counter are not being properly washed prior to placement in sanitizing solution. After removal from the sanitizing solution spoons are not being properly air dried prior to use. Reviewed requirements. corrected.
