The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an scheduled retail food inspection on 7/30/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Via Marconi Pizza Pub was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • TCS foods in right-hand prep refrigerator at cook’s line observed above an approved temperature – 50-54F. Facility voluntarily discarded these items during inspection.

  • TCS foods in left-hand prep refrigerator at cook’s line observed with internal temperatures of 47F. Facility relocated items to pizza prep refrigerator confirmed to be holding an approved temperature at time of inspection.

  • (5x Repeat) Some prepared and opened TCS ready to eat foods held in facility longer than 24 hours missing required discard date marking not to exceed 7 days from the prep/open date. Facility observed using prepared on dates. Some foods lacking date marking. Date marking regulations were emailed during inspection. Facility recorded discard dates on applicable foods during inspection. Failure to correct and maintain multiple repeat violations may result in further legal action.

  • Foods in cooks line prep refrigerator – right-hand side – observed with internal temperatures of 50-54F. Facility must immediately stop using the unit. Facility may not use the unit until serviced by licensed professional, AND unit is operating at 41F or below, AND written permission is granted by MCOPH. E-mail service report to email provided. Failure to comply or await permission before using unit may lead to legal action.

  • Foods in cooks line prep refrigerator – left-hand side – observed with internal temperatures of 47F. Facility must immediately stop using the unit. Facility may not use the unit until serviced by licensed professional, AND unit is operating at 41F or below, AND written permission is granted by MCOPH. E-mail service report to email provided. Failure to comply or await permission before using unit may lead to legal action.

  • Torn door gaskets observed at 2 door reach-in refrigerator in kitchen.
