The Allegheny County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/28/21 at KFC.  During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Employee observed food-handling with exposed band-aid on left forearm. Provide additional barrier such as rolled gauze.
  • Debris, grease build-up, and food build-up observed on the following non-food contact surfaces: 3-bowl sink sprayer, doors and shelving of raw walk-in cooler, shelving of walk-in cooler, sides and wheels of fryers, interiors of hot holding cabinets, and microwave interiors.
  • Standing water observed below pack line and in damaged floor tiles.
  • Dumpster lids open when not in-use
  • Garbage observed accumulating at receiving door
  • Debris build-up observed on floors in the dry storage area, raw walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer.
  • Floor tiles observed broken at breading station and at the fryers.
  • Floor tiles observed broken at breading station and at the fryers.
  • Excessive build-up observed on walls surrounding fryers.
  • Lighting in raw walk-in cooler and walk-in cooler less than 20 foot-candles of light.
  • Personal coats observed hanging on shelving storing food and food packaging.
  • Personal cell phone and cigarette rolling paraphernalia stored on shelving with food and food packaging.
  • Non-functional oven observed stored in rear of breading station. Remove non-essential equipment.
  • Health permit not posted in public view
