The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/22/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Walmart was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Expired MCOPH food establishment license posted. Locate original, current license and post publicly or apply for duplicate. NOTE: Facility’s current food establishment license will expire 01/31/2021. EHS e-mailed facility invoice for new license during inspection.

(4 times repeat violations)Dented cans observed on retail shelves. The Facility removed cans of pumpkin pie filling and green beans during inspection. Failure to correct and maintain multiple repeat violations may lead to legal action.

8 Similac liquid baby formula and 6 Similac Alimentum liquid baby formula observed on sale behind counter with sell-by dates of 12/01/2020 and 01/01/2021. The Facility removed these items from sale during inspection.

Multiple TCS food/beverage items observed abandoned at retail grocery shelving. Facility removed and segregated these items during inspection.

Torn door gaskets observed at retail coolers/freezers throughout facility.

(3 times repeat violations) Spill accumulation observed in walk-in refrigerator(s). Failure to correct and maintain multiple repeat violations may lead to legal action.

Spill accumulation observed on shelving in retail dairy coolers.

Walk-in refrigerator #1 floor observed damaged and is no longer smooth, non-porous, and easily cleanable.
