Wynnewood’s Sangkee Asian Bistro blows inspection, “Rodent-like droppings observed throughout facility” 15 violations

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on December 20, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Sangkee Asian Bistro was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 15 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • (2 times repeat violation) Lacking adequate hot water under pressure at public toilet rooms. Facility adjusted at time of inspection.
  • Hand washing sign lacking at hand sink at bar
  • Proper date marking lacking on prepared food items in secondary containers and/or packaging.
  • (2 times repeat violation) Air space at bottom of back door
  • Rodent-like droppings observed throughout facility. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH
  • Food stored in colanders in walk-in cooler.
  • Containers/boxes of food stored on floor in walk-in cooler.
  • Knife stored in space between prep unit and counter.
  • In-use utensils stored in stagnant water in between uses.
  • Absorbent cloth lining surface underneath cutting board.
  • Torn door gasket observed on 2 door reach-in cooler by back exit
  • Aluminum foil lining surface underneath flat top grill
  • Covered waste receptacle lacking in unisex and/or women’s restroom.
  • Floor unclean in walk-in cooler
  • Missing ceiling tiles at entrance to kitchen
