12 violations at Via Veneto in East Norriton; Dish machine not sanitizing, hand sink lacking hot water, walk-in refrigerator shelves unclean/rusty

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/10/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Via Veneto was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Raw beef stored above peppers in walk-in refrigerator.

  • Food stored on floor dry storage room and walk-in refrigerator.

  • Food handler lacking hair/beard restraint.

  • Knives/utensils stored between equipment and sinks. 

  • Walk-in refrigerator shelves unclean/rusty

  • Duct tape used interior pizza refrigerator.

  • Frost build-up walk-in freezer

  • Torn door gasket on Kelvinator freezer

  • Dish machine not sanitizing. Facility will replace bucket of sanitizer and primed machine. Facility may not use dish machine until sanitizing properly

  • Hand wash sink in back room lacking hot running water(on order for repair)send repair report to inspector

  • Improper air gap food prep sink

  • Employee restroom lacking lid/cover for trash can
