The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture¬† conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 7, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the NAME was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 13 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Commercially processed, refrigerated, ready to eat, deli meat and cheeses, located in the reach in cooler, and held more than 24 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened.
  • Chicken wings dated 12/28/19, diced turkey & diced ham dated 12/22/19, a refrigerated, ready to eat food in the reach in cooler, was date-marked by the facility, but was beyond the 7-day use or sell by date and requires discarding.
  • Food facility does not have a three-compartment sink for manual ware washing in the bar area, although a 2 compartment sink was being used to clean equipment and glassware.
  • Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration in the bar area.
  • The food facility does not have a hand wash sink located in the bar area.
  • No sign or poster posted at the hand wash sink in the men’s or women’s bathrooms to remind food employees to wash their hands.
  • Restricted use pesticides strip in the bar area next to the 2 compartment sink does not meet the requirements specified in the Code of Federal Regulations
  • A temperature measuring device for measuring manual ware washing wash and sanitizing water temperatures is not available in the bar area.
  • Observed heavy grease accumulation and dried food on the floor underneath the fryer area/cook’s line.
  • The Person in Charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.
  • Food Facility is not using an approved detergent-sanitizer in both compartments of the two compartment manual ware washing equipment in the bar area.
  • Black filth, pink slime observed on the interior of the ice machine in the bar area, around water distribution tubing. DO NOT USE. Please empty ice machine COMPLETELY!! Wash, Rinse and Sanitize all parts and allow to air dry before refilling. This machine WAS NOT cleaned during the time of this inspection and bagged ice will be utilized until approval is obtained.
  • Observed microwave with an accumulation of dried food inside.
