The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on December 10, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Dol Go Chon Korean BBQ Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 18 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Drinks, cigarettes, and employee food stored on top of front counter ledge over / next to single use items.

  • Lacking paper towels at kitchen and front hand sink.

  • Front hand sink with ware in basin.

  • Raw shell eggs stored over other foods in 2-door refrigerator.

  • Steam broccoli observed cooling at ambient temperature, with internal temperature of 65. Placed in walk-in to cool to 41F with in 2 hours.

  • Facility lacking a food probe thermometer to take internal temperature from foods.

  • Bulk and working containers of white powdery substances not labeled.

  • Facility storing bags of rice in approved area. HVAC room lacks approved surface finishes that are smooth. non-porous, and easily cleaned. 2 X repeat. Failure to correct and maintain repeat violations could lead to legal action. Moved to approved area by walk-in refrig.

  • Facility prepping / cutting nori in dining room. All food prep, storage, and handling may occur in approved spaces only.

  • Shopping bag of bagged iceberg lettuce in middle basin of three basin sink. (shopping bag not food safe)

  • Food containers stored on floor in rear kitchen hall.

  • Tongs hanging from oven door handle.

  • Door liner and gasket loose on right door of large food preparation refrigerator.

  • Black mold like accumulation observed on wall to left of walk-in refrigerator, behind dry storage shelves. 2 X Repeat. Failure to correct and maintain repeat violation could lead to legal action.

  • Frozen food spill / leak on foods, shelves, and bottom of 1 door freezer.

  • Restroom door in basement not self-closing and left open.

  • Several areas of wall damage and holes in rear basement stair well, and rear basement hall way.

  • Container of tools stored on shelves with dry storage.
