Radnor Township conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/20/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Lovecchio’s Pizza was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 14 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Food found on site is in violation of previous inspection.
- An insect control device located in basement on top of table with potential to contaminate food, equipment, and / or utensils.
- Rodent droppings found inside several storage bins in basement.
- Rodent droppings found throughout the perimeter of the food facility.
- Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible.
- Interior surface of * equipment – chest freezer / microwave is cracked and/or repaired with materials unapproved for food equipment.
- Slicer, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
- Broken equipment, in basement area outside the food facility needs removed.
- Broken equipment, pizza oven knobs and dials in the food facility needs repair.
- Several missing wall tiles.
- Equipment, in kitchen area, has non-food contact surfaces exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling, made of wood, an absorbent and rough material.
- Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.
- Grease barrel is to located to allow for easily accessible cleaning.
- No evidence of hair restraints, hair nets etc on site of facility in food prep areas.
- Observed food stored directly on the floor in front area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required.
- Refrigerator and freezer, in a prohibited location.
