The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on December 16, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the NAME was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 27 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Current MCOPH license not posted at time of inspection. Facilities Manager states they have applied for a copy of their license.
  • MCOPH Certified Food Sanitation Manager Certificate not posted at time of inspection.
  • Lacking single service towels for front counter and backroom hand sinks.
  • Table-top can opener blade unclean
  • Splash guard of ice machine unclean. Clean and sanitize according to owner’s manual.
  • The interior side panels of the ice machine are unclean. Clean and sanitize according to owner’s manual.
  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometer in walk in cooler.
  • Common name label lacking on secondary dry goods containers.
  • Common name label lacking on squeeze bottles at cooks line.
  • Frozen food stored in plastic grocery bags in the walk in freezer.
  • Secondary containers lacking lids/coverings
  • Items stored in the walk in freezers were lacking lids/covers
  • Several Food handler lacking hair restraints
  • Wet wiping cloths not stored in a sanitizing solution
  • Tongs stored on oven door handle along cooks line.
  • Deli cups used as scoops in the secondary dry food containers
  • Torn door gasket observed on the 1st door of the 4 door unit-3 times repeat
  • Foil lining the shelf above the cooks line
  • Food debris on the bottom shelves of the back kitchen prep table
  • Lacking test strips for quaternary and chlorine sanitizer-2 times repeat
  • Hot water valve shut off to cooks line hand sink.
  • Tape is holding the drain in place for the 2 bay food prep sink
  • Trash/pallets are accumulating around the dumpster area
  • Dumpster lids open at time of inspection
  • 2 cooks line hood filters were missing at time of inspection. Facility stated that repair person was on roof changing out the belts
  • Grease build-up on hood filters along cooks line. EHS contact Fire Marshall at time of inspection.
