The Allegheny County Health Department’s Food Safety Program conducted an expected retail food re-inspection on 7/23/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations K & T Fish & Chicken was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- There are 2 pallets of raw eggs on top shelf of walk in cooler above bottled drinks. Operator corrected during inspection. Inspector noted, “Storage order is much improved in black home style refrigerator, walk in cooler, and chest freezer. Continue.”
- Water is pooling around the water heaters in the basement. There is a significant amount of standing water in this area which appears to be a result of the water heater draining directly onto the floor. Operator states that they have spoken with landlord, but this problem has not been corrected. Basement continues to smell strongly of sewage
- The rodent droppings remain around the perimeter of the basement near the hot water heater. These droppings appear to be old and there does not appear to be any additional droppings since the previous inspection.
