The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 3, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the McDonald’s in Belle Vernon was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Hot holding chute has excessive food debris.
  • Facility has presence of small, flying, gnat-like insects mainly in dining room and bathrooms. Pest control company has visited twice and will continue to visit to treat issue.
  • Filters on above front fryers have excessive grease accumulation.
  • Gaskets are torn on Beverage Air cooler and one fry freezer door.
  • Floors under grills and fryers have excessive food debris and grease accumulation.
  • Numerous boxes laying around dumpster, not being placed into dumpsters.
  • Several floor tiles in grill/fryer area have missing sections creating areas where grease & water accumulate.
