The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/22/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Bluestone Country Club was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 15 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

Blue Bell Meadows has failed to be found, “In Compliance” eight times since October 2016:

  • Oct 13, 2016- 15 violations including 5 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • Apr 4, 2017- 9 violations including 4 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • Jul 11, 2017- 17 violations including 7 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • May 30, 2018-15 violations including 5 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • Oct 23, 2018- 15 violations including 6 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • Oct 26, 2018- passed follow-up inspection with ZERO violations.
  • May 2, 2019- 9 violations including 2 food borne illness risk factor violations.
  • Nov 6, 2019- 9 violations including 4 food borne illness risk factor violations.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Splash guard of ice machine unclean. Clean and sanitize according to owner’s manual.

  • Bottle of hand lotion stored on rack with clean cookware.

  • Facility using Reduce Oxygen Packaging (ROP) to include vacuum packaging, sous vide, and/or cook-chill must submit a HACCP plan for approval. Exception if product is labeled with production date/time, held at 41 degrees F and removed from ROP within 48 hours within the food facility where packaged a HACCP plan is not required.

  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometer in cold unit.

  • Common name label lacking on secondary dry goods containers and on squeeze bottles at cooks line.

  • Containers/boxes of food stored on floor.

  • Wet wiping cloths not stored in a sanitizing solution.

  • Boxes of single service food contact items stored on floor in basement.

  • Ice build-up in ice cream freezer.

  • Plastic shipping wrap on face of deep fryer.

  • Absorbent cloth lining surface underneath squeeze bottles.

  • Facility lacking T-sticks at ware wash machine.

  • Shelving unit next to cooks line unclean.

  • Dust build-up on racks in walk-in cooler behind bar.

  • Missing wall tiles next to 3-bay wash sink.
