The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/21/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Pizza Town and Grill was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Interior baffle of the ice machine contains a black, mold-like accumulation.
Empty ice, detail clean and sanitize interior surfaces. New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/21/2020 - Pizza slices on display do not have a time on them when they are to be sold by or discarded. If time, rather than temperature, is used as the public health control the food must be marked or otherwise identified to indicate the time that is 4 hours past the point in time when the food is removed from temperature control. - Boxes of food product (french fried potatoes) were found stored on the floor of the walk-in freezer.
All food and food-related products must be stored at least six inches above the floor.
Elevate product(s) as required. New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/21/2020 - Upon BCDH inspector arrival, food workers were observed not wearing hair restraints as required.
Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.
Food workers donned caps during inspection. Corrected On-Site. New Violation. - Door gaskets on the True 2-door sandwich prep unit are in poor condition (torn).
Replace gaskets to ensure proper operation. New Violation. To be Corrected By: 05/29/2020 - Areas on fan box, ceiling and light housing in the walk-in cooler contain a coating of dust and a mold-like substance.
These areas must be detail cleaned and sanitized to prevent contamination. New Violation.
