The Allegheny County Health Department’s Food Safety Program conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/27/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Celebrations Bar, Banquet, and Grill was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Cut tomatoes stored in broken walk in cooler are 66° F. Tomatoes were stored in walk in cooler on 8/26/2020. Tomatoes were discarded during inspection.
- Roast, rips, and brisket improperly thawed at room temperature. Meats were thawing for about an hour and operator stated that they are going to be cooked right away.
- Walk in cooler is broken. All other food items stored in cooler except for cut tomatoes are not temperature controlled.
- No (sanitizer) test strips available.
- Moist wiping cloths sitting on counter not in sanitizer.
- Active infestation of live flies present throughout facility.
- Certified food protection manager certification expired 6 months ago.
