The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/8/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Peking House was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

White rice in enlarge rice cooker was measured at 118°F.
Food in the hot holding unit is/are not at safe temperature. Hot food must be held at 135°F or above.
Product was discarded during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.  
Raw beef in the prep unit was measured at 77°F.
Time/temperature control for safety (TCS) food must be cold held at or below 41ºF.
Product was discarded. Other items measured in this unit were within range for cold-holding temperature.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.  
Dead roach was observed in the food storage room.
CFSM removed and discarded during inspection.
Contact facility’s exterminator for additional monitoring and/or treatment.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/08/2020  
Food workers are not wearing hair restraints as required.
Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/08/2020  
Single-use take-out soup containers were found being used as scooping utensils in bulk product as well as in the rice cooker.
Single-service and single-use articles may not be reused.
Affected items were removed and discarded during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.  
Wastewater is leaking from the drain throat of the center bay of the 3-compartment sink.
Repair or replace affected plumbing fixtures to ensure proper operation and prevent contamination.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/29/2020  
Floor below fryers and stove are unclean with an accumulation of grease and food debris.
Clean and maintain.  Repeat Violation.
