The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 3,  2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Panera Bread in Collegeville was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility manager is ServSafe certified and stated she is waiting for certificate from MCOPH. EHS to check in office. Post as soon as received.
  • Drain fly type insects observed in facility. Facility gets regular pest control. Send copy of next pest control treatment addressing these insects within 10 business days to JBranagh@montcopa.org
  • Bagels and pastries with no overhead covering. Provide.
  • Chlorine sanitizer in dishwasher measuring above 200 ppm. Repair person arrived while EHS was onsite. Corrected
  • 3 bay sink has 2 faucets. No cold water at one faucet. Repair immediately. Send copy of work repair receipt to MCOPH.
  • Caulk on wall behind 3 bay sink with mold like growth. Replace.
