East Norriton Dunkin’ bumbles inspection; 9 violations In-use utensils observed stored in stagnant water at multiple food prep locations

The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/27/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Dunkin’ Donuts in East Norriton was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Hand sink blocked in rear prep room.

  • Facility not regularly changing date marking labels for prepared cold-holding foods in prep units. A Facility may be required to discard any food found in an out-of-date container in the future.

  • Employee personal items stored on racks containing food items and food containers.

  • In-use utensils observed stored in stagnant water at multiple food prep locations.

  • Heavy ice build-up observed on rack and floor below condenser unit in walk-in freezer.

  • 3 times repeat violation: Men’s restroom door lacking self-closing mechanism. Failure to correct and maintain violation may result in legal action, including closure.

  • Stained ceiling tiles observed in hallway outside restrooms.

  • Floor-to-ceiling crack observed in corner wall to right of hand sink in men’s restroom.

  • Dust build-up observed on ceiling vents throughout the facility and on the vent above the toilet in the women’s’ restroom.
