The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/11/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the McDonald’s Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • The following non-food contact surfaces require cleaning: McCafe blender – product residue Frozen dessert machine and topping bar- product residue Clean these thoroughly
  • Large gap under the back door may allow the entry of rodents and insects. Install door sweep or other repair to eliminate the entry of pests.
  • Houseflies were observed in food prep areas. Fruit flies were observed in the basement around the bag-in-box. Eliminate the presence of insects.
  • Grease accumulation congealed under the grills. Clean the floors at least daily to remove all grease and soiling.
