The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/22/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Hand sink blocked. Ensure hand sinks are accessible at all times.

  • Raw food stored over ready to eat food items in walk-in cooler.

  • Foods uncovered throughout refrigeration. Cover to prevent contamination.

  • Wiping cloth stored in bucket with chlorine sanitizer under 50ppm. Facility refilled. Maintain 50-100ppm.

  • Soiled wiping cloths on floor of walk-in cooler. Store soiled linens in clean, non-absorbent receptacle or clean, washable laundry bags.

  • Exterior of several container lids in walk-in cooler unclean with food-like and mold-like buildup. Facility removed and replaced with clean lids. Clean and sanitize.

  • Sides of fryers and stove unclean with grease-like and food-like buildup. Clean.
