The Allegheny County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/28/21 at Olive Garden Italian Restaurant. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Cooked pasta and Mac n cheese in 4 door Troulsen cooler noted at 48-50F. Pasta was immersed in ice and cooled to 40F, then placed in the walk-in cooler. Mac n cheese and other food items were moved to the walk-in cooler until the Troulsen cooler’s ambient temperature was below 41F. Food must be held at 41° F or below
- Utensils (tongs) were stored in non-running water on the cook line. Store in-use utensils (wash, rinse, and sanitize at least every 4 hours) in running water, or in
water that is 135F or above - NEMCO chopper has old food debris within the metal grid.
- Tomato slicer has tomato pieces within the blades. Wash, rinse and sanitize food contact surfaces every 4 hours (if continual use) or after every use (if infrequent use).
- The Handwashing sink at the bar had an empty pitcher inside.
- The ground surrounding the dumpsters has accumulated garbage debris
- Two lights are out under ventilation hoods (one light in each ventilation hood).
