Health Department CLOSES Round Guys Brewing in Lansdale, “due to lack of available hot water”

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/9/2020 As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Round Guys Brewing was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The restaurant was closed by the Health Department. The inspector stated in the report:

Facility closed by MCOPH at time of inspection due to lack of available hot water. Facility may not re-open without available hot running water of an adequate temperature at all required areas. Facility may not re-open without written permission from MCOPH.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Raw shell eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods in 1 door reach-in refrigerator. Facility relocated eggs during inspection.

  • Cans of food stored on floor near dry storage rack. Facility relocated cans during inspection.

  • Hot water of an adequate temperature was not observed throughout facility. Facility was not in operation at time of inspection. Facility closed at time of inspection and may not re-open until hot water of an adequate temperature is available at all required plumbing fixtures AND written permission to re-open is provided by MCOPH. Contact EHS at phone number provided at time of inspection for re-opening once hot water is available at all required areas of facility.

  • Several wall holes (~1 inch diameter)at the left side entry to the brewing area from the kitchen.
