The Allegheny County Health Department’s Food Safety Program conducted an unannounced inspection on 7/13/2020 following the receipt of a complaint. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Walmart was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 1 administrative violation was cited.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Upon arrival the Inspector observed 1 cart handler, 2 cashiers, several customers and an employee walking through the store all wearing their masks improperly (mask down under their noses and ineffectively only covering their mouths). Manager stated that it is company policy not to enforce mask usage but only recommend proper usage or if they are without a mask offer them the sale of one, but are allowing customers to enter and shop unmasked.
On the same day the Health Department closed the Young Men Republican Club of Allegheny County saying:
The subject facility ordered to close for at least 7 days pending compliance. An inspection was performed in response to a complaint for failure to comply with orders to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
