The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/2/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Turning Point of Blue Bell was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Lacking single service towels for hand sink at front counter area.

1 gallon of Rutter’s milk past dated 2/29/20 observed in walk-in cooler

Common name label lacking on squeeze bottles at cooks line.

Boxes of food stored on floor in kitchen.

Heavily soiled dry wiping cloths stored at prep surface.

(2 times repeat violation) In-use utensils stored in stagnant water in between uses.

Bowl/cup used as scoop stored obtain dry goods/food items.

Boxes of single service food contact items stored on floor.

Torn door gasket observed on 2 door reach-in cooler behind front counter

(2 times repeat violation) Lacking irreversible registering temperature indicator for high temperature sanitizing dish machine.
