The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/9/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Lacking single service towels for the ladies public restroom hand sink. Electric dryer wasn’t working either

  • Can opener blade unclean

  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometers in several cold units.

  • Common name label lacking on secondary dry goods containers.

  • Common name label lacking on squeeze bottles at cooks line.

  • Food handler lacking hair restraint

  • Bowl/cup used as scoop stored obtain dry goods/food items.

  • Ice scoop stored on top of ice machine

  • Aluminum foil lining the wall next to the fryer

  • No toilet paper available for restroom.

  • Mop not stored hanging or inverted to dry.
