The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/14/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the China King was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 15 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Blocked hand wash sink.

  • Raw food stored over ready to eat food items.

  • Food uncovered throughout refrigeration units.

  • Proper date marking lacking on prepared food items in secondary containers and/or packaging.

  • Food item stored in open original aluminum can.

  • Door propped open upon arrival. 

  • Air gaps on back screen door. (allows access to vermin)

  • Employee prepping food items at 3 bay ware wash sinks alongside soiled equipment. (inspector explained proper usage of sinks)

  • Food handler lacking hair/beard restraint.

  • In-use utensils stored in stagnant water in between uses.

  • Frost build-up in most freezer units.

  • Restroom door propped open.

  • Floors under cook line equipment unclean.

  • Stained ceiling tiles.

  • Filters above cook line equipment unclean.
