NEWTOWN, PA 18940The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/13/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Francesco’s Pizzeria was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Observed hand sink used as a dump sink. Nothing can be dumped or stored in hand sinks basins. Hand sinks are only to be used for hand washing.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
Observed dressing bottle and cheese shaker stored on top of salad lettuce. Nothing can be stored on top of ready to eat foods to prevent contamination.
Lettuce was stored in contact with the shelf above the container. The shelf contaminated the lettuce. This lettuce was also stored outside the prep unit wells and was not marked for time. This was discarded.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.
Dishwasher detected 0ppm sanitizer. This dishwasher must provide 50ppm-100ppm. CFSM called for service during the inspection. Do not use this dish machine until it has been serviced and providing 50ppm-100ppm sanitizer per wash cycle. Submit service invoice to this department.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
Food workers are not wearing hair restraints as required.
Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/14/2020
Observed a knife stored between two prep units. This is not approved. In use utensils must be stored in a clean and dry container. This knife was washed and sanitized during the inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
Cardboard is being used as storage containers and lining shelves throughout the food prep area and refrigeration units. Cardboard boxes are not an approved material for food prep areas. All surfaces must be smooth, easily cleanable, and non-absorbent. Remove all cardboard from the food prep area and refrigeration units.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 07/20/2020
