Susquehanna Township conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/2/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Wendy’s #6401 was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Rear exit door threshold plate is deteriorated. Door weathering stripping is also deteriorated. Observed air gap at side and bottom of door that must be sealed off to prevent rodent entry.
  • Outdoor area of food facility was littered with food wrappers and debris. Dumpsters were open allowing pests access to discarded food material. Dumpster caged in area was messy with food and debris laying on floor.
  • Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodent activity in kitchen and food preparation area. Orkin Pest Control operator has noted on last 6 months of service reports that the facility needed to seal off holes in perimeter walls to prevent rodent entry into building. Observed two mice while inspecting internal perimeter area.
  • Observed loose insulation on floor at six locations where mice ate thru walls to gain access to food preparation area. Rodent fecal matter was abundant found in the insulation material.
