The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/31/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the La Poblanita Mexican Cuisine & Bar was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 14 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Raw food stored over ready to eat food items in 2-door Coca Cola cooler in kitchen.

  • Sliced tomatoes in prep unit above 41F.

  • Sliced tomatoes in prep unit measuring 46F. Facility voluntarily removed to cooler for rapid cooling.

  • Date marking lacking on food containers in refrigeration.

  • Chemical spray bottle lacking label at wait station.

  • Chemical spray bottle stored amongst food contact items at wait station.

  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometer in chest freezer.

  • Product lacking common name label in secondary container in refrigeration.

  • Light and airspace at bottom of rear door.

  • Employee personal items hanging from dry storage shelf above food.

  • Food handler lacking hair restraint.

  • Men’s room door open at time of inspection.

  • Mop not stored hanging or inverted to dry.

  • Insufficient lighting in 1-door Coca Cola retail cooler.
