The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/6/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Food in the biscuit cooler stored open with no covering, shelves above these items are heavily soiled with black debris.
- Build up of old food debris noted in the bottom of the small cooler by front hand wash sink, also build up of old food debris noted around fryers and around hot holding areas.
- Outside areas of the plastic containers used to store foods have a build up of dirt debris.
- Outside dumpster has a build up of garbage not inside the dumpster completely.
- Floor tiles near back exit door are broken and water pooling under them.
- Inside the sugar container is a build up of non-sugar items.
- Metal shelves in the upright cooler are heavily soiled, there have exposed foods being stored in this cooler so these need cleaned right away.
- Floor and walls throughout this facility have a build up of dirt debris.
- Floor drains in kitchen under fryer need cleaned right away, build up of dirt debris inside of them.
