The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/17/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Subway was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Pizza, veggie patties and pepperoni in cold wells >41F due to over-filling of pans. Products were in pans <2 hours so placed in cooler. Corrected.
- Interior of ice machine on top of soda fountain has blackish slime residuals on plastic ice deflector / interior top. Unit shut off. Do not use until unit is cleaned and sanitized and approved by agent.
