The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/10/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Two Amigos Mexican Taqueria was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 16 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility operating without a MCOPH license. Facility has two business days to submit license application and appropriate fee. EHS emailed copy of MCOPH food license renewal invoice at time of inspection

  • The retail food facility failed to comply with directives of the Department in response to community emergencies as directed in the April 15, 2020, Order of the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Public Health Safety Measures for Businesses Permitted to Maintain In-person Operations (FDA Food Code 8-304.11(H)). Employees not wearing masks at start of inspection.

  • Facility lacking a current CFSM. Facility has 30 business days to submit proof of registration in an approved food safety course. (2 times repeat violation)

  • Proper date marking lacking on prepared food items in secondary containers in self-service cooler.

  • Chemical spray bottle lacking label.

  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometers in chest freezer.(Repeat violation)

  • Employee personal items hanging from dry storage shelf.

  • Tongs stored on oven door handle along cooks line.

  • Ice cream scoop stored in stagnant water.

  • Single service containers stored with food contact surface exposed.

  • Dust build-up on vent cover in ceiling in dining area.

  • Self-closing mechanism on restroom door damaged. Door not closing properly.

  • Dumpster lids open at time of inspection.

  • 55 – physical facilities installed, maintained, and clean

    Comments: Missing cove base next to office entrance.

  • Ceiling tiles damaged in kitchen area.

  • Mop not stored hanging or inverted to dry (2 times repeat violation)
