The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/17/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Vietnam Cafe was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Date marking lacking on foods in refrigeration. All food prepped on site and held longer than 24 hours must be date marked and discarded after 7 days.

  • Fly-like insects observed in kitchen.

  • Pots and pans stored on floor under shelf. Remove to wash, rinse and sanitize before storing 6 inches off floor.

  • Foil lining shelf above cooler. Absorbent cloth lining shelf in cooler. Remove, surfaces must be smooth, easily cleanable, and non-porous.

  • Cardboard lining floor in several areas. Remove so floor is smooth, easily cleanable, and non-porous.

  • Food like debris on floors throughout kitchen. Clean.
