The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/24/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Zaika Kabab & Curry was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
1. Numerous rodent droppings were found in the cabinetry below the self-service beverage dispenser. Remove droppings and clean and sanitize affected areas.
2. Fruit flies were observed near the prep sink and mop sink areas. |
1. Rear door to facility was found open upon BCDH inspector arrival. No screen door is present. Door must remain closed to protect against pest/vector entry. Door was closed during inspection – Corrected on-site.
2. An air gap is present at the rear door to the facility. |
Food workers were not wearing hair restraints as required. Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles. Hair restraints were donned during inspection. Corrected On-Site. New Violation. |
1. Gasket on the prep unit door (right side) is torn and in poor condition. Replace.
2. Facility is using a large piece of cardboard (placed on an unused grill-top) on which to store food prep items. |
1. The hood vent filters on the center hood unit (not used, per CFSM) are coated with dust. Clean and maintain.
2. Exterior surfaces of equipment, handles, faucets, etc are unclean with an accumulation of grease and dust combination. |
Plumbing feed at the men’s restroom handwash sink is badly leaking when water is turned on. Repair or replace affected plumbing fixtures to ensure proper operation. Repeat Violation. |
