The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/3/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- The following were observed: 1. Accumulation of grease and debris behind fryers and along flooring of cook line equipment, observed heavy accumulation of grease on fryers. Clean within 48 HOURS and maintain cleanliness. 2. Accumulation of grease and food debris between chicken warmer and bun storage area. Clean within 24 HOURS and maintain cleanliness. 3. Accumulation of food debris along bottom of both two compartment freezers. Clean within 24 HOURS and maintain cleanliness. 4. Accumulation of food and debris on walk-in freezer floor. Clean within 48 HOURS and maintain cleanliness.
- Observed the handle of the bottom Henny Penny warmer located across from the microwaves in disrepair. Repair handle within ONE WEEK and maintain all equipment in good repair. The three-compartment sink needs to be resealed to the wall, seal is pealing off and or some portions are no longer sealed. Reseal within ONE WEEK and maintain.
- The nozzles to the slushy machine had visible debris on them inside and out. Nozzles must be cleaned daily. Observed a build up of ice in walk-in freezer coming off of the fan unit. A large piece of ice was removed during time of inspection. Ensure that unit is properly running and that accumulation of ice does not occur to prevent contamination of food products. Comply today and every day.
- Old food residue observed in the handwash sink by the drive through window, indicating uses other than handwashing. Ensure that all hand wash sinks are designated for hand washing ONLY at all times. Comply today and everyday.
