The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/17/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations La Massaria at Bella Vista was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • EHS observed several foods that were dated past the 7 days that foods need to be used or discarded. Demi dated 7/25, ham dated 8/7, dressing in walk in cooler dated 6/24, and Aoli in the walk in cooler dated 7/12. Date foods once they are open or prepared and use/discard within 7 days.

  • Eggs stored on top shelves. Move to lowest shelf.

  • Rags not being stored in sanitizer solution in between use.

  • Grooves and discoloration on cutting boards. Resurface/replace.

  • Facility had CL test strips and using quaternary sanitizer. Facility replaced with quaternary test strips.

  • EHS observed a leak in the walk in cooler.
