The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/5/2020 As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Burger King was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility lacks a Certified Food Sanitation Manager (CFSM) issued by Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH). Facility granted 30 days to complete and submit reciprocity application and payment to the MCOPH Norristown office at PO Box 311 Norristown, PA 19404, OR provide proof of enrollment in an approved managerial-level course. Failure to comply by by given deadline could lead to legal action. EHS e-mailed facility application and fee schedule during inspection.

  • Interior of ice machine observed unclean with some accumulation. Facility cleaned and sanitized during inspection.

  • Nozzle spout of unsweetened ice tea dispenser observed unclean with accumulation. Facility cleaned and sanitized nozzle during inspection.

  • Chemical spray bottle stored adjacent to unpackaged paper cups at front counter area. Facility relocated spray bottle during inspection.

  • Ambient temperature thermometer at chest freezer near fryers is not functional. Provide unit with functional ambient temperature thermometer.

  • Packages of food stored on floor in walk-in freezer. Elevate items to a minimum of 6 inches from floor.

  • Packaged single-use utensils observed being stored on floor in dry storage room. Facility elevated items to a minimum of 6 inches from floor during inspection.

  • Dried accumulation observed on pitcher rinser at beverage prep area. Facility cleaned and sanitized item during inspection.

  • Grease and debris accumulation observed in exterior dumpster area.
