The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/23/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Lauras 2 Pizzeria was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.
According to reporting by The Philadelphia Inquirer Lauras 2 Pizzeria has failed to be “In Compliance” at an inspection seven times since April 7, 2017:
- Apr 7, 2017- 6 violations with 4 food borne risk factor violations.
- Aug 24, 2017- 8 violations with 5 food borne risk factor violations.
- Apr 26, 2018- 6 violations with 4 food borne risk factor violations.
- Nov 7, 2018- 6 violations with 2 food borne risk factor violations.
- Apr 11, 2019- 6 violations with 5 food borne risk factor violations.
- Oct 16, 2019- 5 violations with 4 food borne risk factor violations.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Back handwashing sink blocked. Ensure hand sinks are accessible at all times.
- Dish machine showing no sanitizer. Do not use machine until repaired and sanitizing at 50-100ppm chlorine. Facility must re-sanitize all dishes previously washed with dish machine. Facility must set up 3 bay sink with quaternary sanitizer at 200-400ppm. Send copy of work repair receipt by email.
- Date marking lacking on foods in refrigeration. All food prepped on site and held longer than 24 hours must be date marked and discarded after 7 days.
- Cooler on cook’s line temping above 41F. All foods moved to walk-in cooler. Do not use until cooler is holding at 41F or below.
- Some foods uncovered in cooler units. Cover.
- Shelving of pizza bain marie unclean with food-like debris. Clean and sanitize.
