The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 4/20/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Speedway was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- The Person in Charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.
- EMPLOYEES CANNOT PROPERLY WASH HANDS AFTER USING RESTROOM DUE TO HOT WATER BEING TURNED OFF UNDER SINK.
- MILDEW LIKE GROWTH ON SHELVING AND SOME AREAS OF PLASTIC DRINK SLATS IN MILK/ TEA DISPLAY COOLER.
- CONTINUOUS LEAK FROM MIDDLE OF FAUCET WHEN HOT WATER IS TURNED ON AT HANDWASH SINK IN EMPLOYEE RESTROOM.
- LIGHT BULBS NOT SHIELDED OR SHATTERPROOF IN BACK ROOM OVER SODA STORAGE.
- Temperature measuring device for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in MILK/ TEA DISPLAY COOLER equipment. REPEAT VIOLATION.
- Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand wash sink in the EMPLOYEE RESTROOM area.
- Toilet rooms do not have a self-closing door. REPEAT VIOLATION.
