Mamma’s Place in Mars fails inspection, “Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the kitchen area”

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on December 12, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Mamma’s Place was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the kitchen area due to 15 REPs on prep table and on top of warewashing machine. Remove REPs, clean and sanitize top of warewashing machine and prep table immediately. Remove and exclude pests from food facility.
  • Food/Grease reiduals under grill/fryers/coolers in kitchen.
