The Allegheny County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/28/21 at Shop ‘n Save. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- 19 cans of Similac infant formula expired 1/1/2021. Today’s date is 1/28/2021.
- No discard date on labels for chipped ham. All other cheeses and meats have discard dates. Deli manager corrected labels during inspection.
- Old dried food debris on guard behind slicer blade.
- Quaternary Sanitizer container missing at 3-compartment sink in bakery station. CORRECTED. New container of sanitizer provided. Sanitizer concentration 200ppm.
- Quaternary test strips expired February 2020.
- Leaks at both faucets of two bowl sink.
- Hand sinks in both men’s and women’s toilet rooms are not draining or draining very slowly.
- Floors beneath shelves in bakery container storage room are accumulating dirt, debris, old rodent droppings.
- Floors in walk-in cooler are accumulating dirt and debris
