The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 25, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Tony Roni’s in Bala Cynwyd was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.
Tony Roni’s also failed an inspection on May 31, 2019.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Facility lacking a current MCOPH Certified Food Safety Manager. Facility has 10 business days to submit reciprocity application or submit proof of registration in an approved food safety course.
- Can opener piercing point unclean.
- Cutting boards at sandwich prep units with discoloration and grooves.
- Prepared food items in refrigeration lacking date marking.
- Bulk dry goods stored in secondary containers lacking labels.
- Mouse-like droppings observed in back dry storage room and floor under prep sink. Clean and sanitize area. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH
- Scoops lacking handle stored in bulk dry goods.
- 2 times repeat violation- Food handler lacking hair/beard restraint
- Wet mop head stored on floor at mop sink.
