The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/28/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Out Door Country Club of York was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • The Person in Charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection.
  • Food Employee observed donning single use gloves without a prior hand wash.
  • Observed employee in the pool area pulling is mask down exposing a beard with no facial covering.
  • Observed ice bucket at the pool store right side-up other than inverted to prevent dust and debris particles from falling into bucket.
  • Observed multiple food items held in the bain marie across from grill with cold holding temperatures ranging from 47 degrees to 55 degrees, food where discarded weight and value provided by manager 8lbs @ $44.00
  • Observed (2) pizza stones at the pool in the in pizza oven to be cracked and no longer smooth and easily cleanable.
  • Heavy accumulation of ice on the inside of the ice cream novelty case in the pool area.
  • Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required.
  • Observed deflector shield of the machine in the dish area with pink and black matter build-up.
  • The handwash sink located in the Bar area does not have water at a temperature of at least 100°F.
  • Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink in the bar area.
  • Observed ceiling vent cover above ice machine to have a heavy accumulation of static dust.
