Penndel McDonald’s dinged by Health Department for Spoon for stirring beverages was stored in stagnant water between uses, expired milk

The Bucks County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 9/3/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the McDonald’s Restaurant in Penndel was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Several individual bottles of milk were past dated 09/01/2020. The manager removed these bottles so they would not be sold to customers. Fluid milk may not be sold past the manufacturer’s sell by date.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
Hair restraints lacking for several food handlers. The manager stated that additional hats and visors are on order.
Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, beard restraints and clothing that covers body hair, that are effectively designed and worn to keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.
(b) Exception. This subsection does not apply to food employees who present a minimal risk of contaminating exposed food, clean equipment, utensils, linens and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles. These food employees may include employees such as counter staff who only serve beverages and wrapped or packaged foods, hostesses and wait staff.   New Violation. To be Corrected By: 09/04/2020
-Spoon for stirring beverages was stored in stagnant water between uses. The spoon was removed from water.
-The ice scoop was stored inside the ice machine with the handle in contact with the ice. The scoop was relocated to the appropriate holder.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
-Debris on some door gaskets of McCafe coolers
-Debris at the bottom, interior of some McCafe coolers.
Clean and sanitize affected areas. Maintain clean to sight and touch.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 09/07/2020
