The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/30/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations 7-Eleven was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Hand was sink inoperable behind front counter. Food handler did not and was not able to wash hands in between separate tasks. Facility has 24 hours to repair sink.
- Employee uncovered cup of tea stored next to hand wash sink behind front service counter. Remove. Store covered in a designated area.
- Several food items stored in retail cooler past date, 07/29/2020. Immediately removed from retail cooler.
- Breakfast sandwiches stored in warmer tempted between 103-109 degrees F. Voluntarily removed. Ensure proper hot holding temperature of 135F or above.
- Piles of returned, and expired food stored throughout facility. Organize returns and store in designated area.
- Cans stored in sanitizer bay of 3-basin sink. Remove, clean and sanitize sinks, utilize for designated purpose only.
- Facility back room area with 3-bay sink cluttered with unused equipment, etc. Clean and organize area.
- Mold like growth in and around self serve fountain soda machine ice chute. Clean and sanitize.
- Heavy dust like debris on both ceiling vent covers in retail space.( circular dust like debris outline on vent covers) Clean. * Food like debris build up on Turbo Air reach in cooler door interior behind front service counter.
- Cases of single use cups and lids stored on floor in retail store. Store 6″ off floor.
- Hand wash sink behind front service counter inoperable at time of inspection. Facility has 24 hours to repair.
- Hand sink behind front counter inoperable. Facility has 24 hours to repair.
