Roach-like insect found at Rudees Thai Cuisine in Wynnewood, 15 violations says Health Department

WYNNEWOOD, PA 19096The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 22, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Rudees Thai Cuisine was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 15 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Sign for customer to request inspection report not posted in public view

  • MCOPH CFSM certificate not posted in public view

  • Raw food stored over ready to eat food items walk-in refrigerator.

  • Proper date marking lacking on prepared food items in secondary containers and/or packaging.

  • Spray bottle at front lacking common name

  • Frozen chicken thawing in container under 3 bay ware wash sink at room temp(temperature at 28 degrees)facility moved to walk-in refrigerator. inspector explained proper thawing procedures

  • 36 – thermometers provided & accurate

    Comments: Facility lacking visible accurate thermometers in several cold units.

  • Live Roach-like insect observed by on dish machine . Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH

  • Foods uncovered in several cold units

  • Food items stored on floor walk-in cooler

  • Food containers stored directly under spray sink at dish machine area and hand wash sink in kitchen area.

  • Container of mustard/equipment stored in food prep sink. (inspector explained proper usage of food prep sink)

  • Food handler lacking hair/beard restraint

  • Knives stored between equipment.
